heqb?25a?48v?1.8v p/n 7q01d5wn000 rev 3.c ds heqb 25a 48v 1-8v_7q01_030603 rev 4a ? page 11 magnetek peg web site, www.magnetekpower.com thermal considerations the converter has internal thermal protection preventing hot spots on pcb from exceeding mfr?s recommended temperatures for reliable operation, reference over temperat ure protection threshold (section: feature characteristics). margin to the temperature protection limit should be verified in the application, and should not exceed 120 c on the thermal reference points as shown in figure 14. during an abnormal condition inducing an increase in the converter temperature, the co nverter output voltage will fold back when the over temperature protecti on threshold is reached. the converter will auto-recover when the fault condition is corrected and time allowed for the converter to cool down. figure 14, thermal reference points overcurrent protection the overcurrent limit inception is typi cally 110% of the rated output current. when the overcurrent limit inception is exceeded the output voltage will decrease proportional to in crease to the load current. further increase in the load current will cause the output voltage to trip the under voltage protection threshold and enter fault protection, or hiccup reference figure 5. the converter will enter fault protecti on typically at 125% of rated output current. when the fault is removed the converte r will auto recover. q9 q4
